Carla came to her front door flat, under her left arm she held the small bag with groceries while she placed the key in the lock to open the door. She pushed the door inwards and stepped in onto the square foot mat and began getting any stuff on her shoes onto the mat. There was running of water in the shower area, to her this was odd, because when she had left the flat, there was no running of water. She was the type of woman that made sure when she was going out, that evrything were switched off.
A young woman living on her own, she had no children as yet, and there was no one living with her. She immediately grabbed the broom that was there in the small corridor, placed the bag with the groceries on the floor, and edged her way towards the bargroom door. ''Who are you?'' She asked, having the broom in her right hand as a weapon, and turning the door handle to open.
Slowly, she opened the door only to find that there was no one there, and there was no water running.
The bathroom was just as she had left it. Placing the broom back, she took up the bag with the groceries and went into the kitchen. She put the plug of the electric kettle on, which was already filled with water. THe falling of water came again. Leaving the kitchen, she went again to the bath area, sure enough, water was running in the empty shower. She started thinking that there might be something wrong with the tap. Turning the tap off tightly, she went back to the kitchen, and made herself a hot drink. Sitting there on the sofa, she heard again the water in the shower running. Again she went to turn it off and found she could not open the bathroom door. ''Is there someone in there?'' She asked. Waiting for an answer, none came. She phoned the water services. They came and found nothing unusual. Everything was okay. Carla now remembered something her dad had told her just before he had passed away. ''I'll let you know if I'm okay.''

The End.
