I always thought it would only stay the same until escaping
That family dynamic

Where parents knew the consequences
Without any accountability
For those words, Nobody Wants You, still in my head.

A personal truth supposedly
What I see and feel when no one else is looking,

Even though continually in and out of my life
With his own way of punishing himself
Because easier to live the nightmare than try and fix it.

Therefore, this is the unnatural bond unable to be broken.
When I am my mother wrapped in barbed wire

And he has a similar life's result deemed deservedly so,
Either lover or friend trapped beside me within my mirror,
To act like birds from above as we scatter through glass.
