My Granny wasn't one to give a hug

And for some reason I never asked why

I guess that I must have understood

'Cause the thought of it never made me cry.

She loved me, I knew that from the start,

And I never needed hugs to tell me so.

She was Granny and that's the way she was.

It was the way that she was taught, don't you know?

I don't think it's too late to say, "I love you,"

'Cause I believe that she can hear me, even now.

So I'll just say that I'm missing her today

And I'll know she got the message, somehow.
