Phone calls home are always short and sweer

Little is ever shared

When you do not ask and I do not tell

You didn't need to tell me that you do not care

It's the little things that told me

Maybe it was all the birthdays home alone

Or the one when you stayed, I ended up crying in bed all day

Maybe it was the punishment, when you found me at my lowest point

When parents should be there to pick up the pieces

I'm pretty sure, you are mostly the reason I'm so fucked up

It's a shame

As it's usually the little things that you do for a person

That shows how much you love them

Or if this is your version of love, I'd rather go without

After all, it was you who reminded me,

You cannot choose family but you can choose friends
