Sir Who

I have taken you to a place

Worthy enough for your face

Very much with haste

Do you not know who

I am, beloved and true

Here to sway you

Where napkins cost five

Where I require a silk tie

My name is lost to time

What a gentleman, they speak

Yet her eyes I seek

Droopy, and most bleak

I toss my cash around

Demanding they play a lovely sound

For the love I’ve found

She seems upset

Unlike when we met

The jewels refused kept

She asks my name again

I fear it won’t be the same

Not since inflicted pain

This restaurant is where it occurred

Long after our love assured

After the love of a verb...
