I woke up this morning, the sun said hello and the birds sang my name,

In the sleepy rays of the dawn, happy was content, and I was the same

All was silence, I luxuriated in the moment, the world caste a sleepy eye

Rolled over with the aim of more lazy sleep, felt somehow strange, didn't know why

Then, I sat bolt upright, the grating chirps of the greedy birds begging for food

The blinding sun burned my eyes, and happy and content took a dive, along with my mood,

For I suddenly remembered who fancied himself king of all us poor, ignorant subjects

The man whom I despised with every fiber of my being, down to his signature on checks

Suddenly the morning was just the start of another day in Hell, of watching cable news,

And my happy, content mood was evaporated, replaced with a whopper case of the blues
