Pretzel Logic – Happiness

There’s something special in this pretzel,

at least that’s how it seems,

makes you think of puppy dogs

and magical moonbeams.

The pastry, light and flaky,

made from unusual dough,

just a bite will bring a smile

of happiness, you know.

You’re feeling kind of giddy

in the nicest

of all ways;

just like translucent bubbles

that can brighten

up the haze.

A giggle seems

not far away,

you want to sing,

to dance;

everyone seems happy too

at least at the

first glance.

The pretzel calls out differently,

it’s calling all the shots,

a friend of yours or so it seems

happy she is not.

You feel your smile

begin to fade,

your laughter

no longer there

as you try to find a way

that you can

let her know

you care.

That joyous bubble

has been popped,

a needle-stabbed balloon,

that effervescent feeling,

you miss it now

and hope it comes back

soon.

You sit and let her

talk it out,

her tears no longer fall

and then you hear

the sound you wanted

to hear

most of all.

Pretzal crumbs on twists

can spread,

bring relief to

someone’s head.

She gives a tiny giggle,

and you cannot

help but laughter

for that is how

it seems to work --

a contagious path,

where laughter throws

the blues away,

replaces it with pinks,

chucks out all the

darkest shades

for the pastel inks.

The sun has burned

the clouds away,

there’s no more

hint of any grey

at least

upon this

day.

Pretzel logic;

happiness – bubbles up inside

sadness -- makes it take a slide

sharing – relief does provide.
