Something from deep inside the heart.

He sang like a Nightingale,
one of the planet’s most beautiful bird
With every melodic alarm song
In the wee hours of dawn,
He whistled, trilled and
gurgled every word.
At night they’d run up a hill, his jacket billowing in
the wind and the ribbons in her hair falling loose
He settles on the grass and calls in his gentle voice,
“Come sit down with me,” for she stands her ground
and lingers behind
She knows he is still, and at peace with the Light
She rests next to him as they lie and gaze
at the night sky, her giving in and telling him of the stars
the stories behind each as they blink and shine bright,
guiding his hand with hers as they trail from one to another.
They know when they’re quiet, they will see him as
a dandelion seed dancing in the wind
They will watch him come out of the
meadows and trees;
they will sense him flow from the ocean shore
They know they will hear his song in the gentle breeze
and she will weep
Tears will pour from her eyes, and her hand will
reach to stop the steady flow, the drip splatter drip
“Don’t cry,” he’d murmur and her bleeding heart will droop
from memory and tear and escape from within.
In the morning he’s gone once more,
returned to where he was now
high above the clouds.
She dances through the forest glen
hops across the rocks of the creek
twirls in the playful wind, for she knows that
he is still part of her heart beat
She wonders when there will come a time in her own passing
when the distance between them will close and
she will finally see the smile he used on her
and his gentle and laughing voice again.

Beautiful work in painting that sweet melancholy moment.

Thank you so much! Means a lot. I wasn't so satisfied on the formatting since it seems a bit too random so I guess I'll change it.
