Bridled Since Birth

My life was concluded the moment I took my first breath

Any hopes, all dreams, and genuine happiness were promptly put to death

The street beneath my feet is where my body shall roam

No love, no comfort, or the safety of a true home

I can fight, I can struggle, but I cannot pull away

This life is congenital, enslaved I will stay

In the dark its much clearer, I am most effective in here

Hate, pain, and suffering, I thrive in this fear

Fiercely, I evade my past, no plans for the future

I am a demon of society, these streets are my culture

impenetrable bars encage my soul

My veins carry red blood, but my heart is the color of coal

On my knees, I cry and pray for a life of good

As I rise from the ground, on the streets again I stood

I navigate my life, with the sole option of one direction

Sailing in the shadows impervious to light’s detection

I exert to rupture these restraints to the streets

Impossible to accomplish while this tainted heart beats

Grinding of teeth, the wailing of man, until the day I expire

Death is the strength that can tear through this bridle
