Sad beauty
never leaves her tower
in the morning
just before dawn
she'll gaze at the flowers
as birds break into songs

Sad beauty
never seen her smile
every afternoon
when the carriages pass
you'll see her profile
as the prince draws
from her a gasp

Sad beauty
always hear her cries
except tonight
church bells ring aloud
stars seem to sigh
for she isn't the bride
