A dark tale of a breakdown

I'm walking down train tracks. The sky is dark and loud. The train tracks are from another time, a time of war, now it is just a memory of days past. Wooden planks divide the space between the metal, not more than a foot from each other. The light doesn't last long in winter, and it has been gone for hours — one foot after the other I tread forwards, the tracks slowly disappearing from my slowly disintegrating sight. I don't know if my eyes are filled with the rage of the weather or my creation, what does it matter anyway. My desperate attempt to block all senses has nearly succeeded, only the slightest of sight remain as my ears are blasted with the newest edition of whatever and that's when it all fails, I can hear myself. The crashing thoughts of reality tear through my veil of insecurities and force me to think. I cling to the hope of just keeping one foot after the other, even when I'm just hoping it will land on the wooden planks each time, and not falling into the rain-filled pits. I have never felt alone, not until now. That feeling of non-control of your body, it shatters what you thought you could handle, and you are left with just the ability to keep your feet going one after another. And suddenly my world catches up, I stand at the end, or should I say beginning.
