Something I wrote on the total loss of my home to a fire, years ago.

I Watched the Flames

I watch the flames eating away at my things so much is lost all I have left is memory

one never realizes just what one has until in one sweep it is gone art from my nephew once upon the fridge door now blackened and ashes

things my mother crocheted for me now ashes upon the ground the last bed spread she started but never finished, meant so much is now just a memory

Grann's things bought so long ago prized playground of childhood gone I drove the cabinet around the kitchen so many miles now ashes upon the ground

in my memory they are still there yet it's so hard to let go I lost so much yet they were only things no one or beloved pets were hurt and that's the happiest part for all the rest were only things and live on inside my memory

I'm sorry that happened to you. How very sad - I can't imagine.

Thanks, all experiences are life lessons, to grow from and move forward. So like the Phoenix, arise from the ashes and move forward.
