A quarry with blue water behind your grandparents.

Jagged thoughts vanish, transparent.

Mamas and the papas, leaves in the air, burning photographs.

The strangest fantasy of you writing my epitaph.

Please, don’t forget your autograph.

Emptiness doesn’t go away. It just is filled.

Through drinks and smoke to make our minds sit still.

I see your face in every bombfire, every snowflake, in all the leaves raked.

After all this time I know it well.

I’ve got this sick secret with no one to tell.

You’re waiting at the gallows while I’ve already hurried into hell.
