There is no time

For finer things,

For balls and belles and crowns and kings.

Simplicity

In poetry,

Ink on parchment as calligraphy.

Song of words

The cross and curves

Shape the empathy unheard.

Machines spit out

Cheap copies of art

The only problem: they lack a heart.

Swirls and strides,

Twirls and glides,

Heartbeats pulsing like the tides.

Chandelier,

Candle glow,

Illuminate the ebb and flow.

Magnetic touch,

Piano keys,

What happened to intimacy?

Primal urge,

Animal desire

Replaced the beauty of waltzing fire.

Mob of bodies,

Senseless motions

Drown out the dances of emotion.
