Fairy Shrine

What doth the moon withhold from thee?

Oh lonely human beneath the tree

Who longs for worlds never to see

And knowledge that will never be.

What doth the wind prolong to say?

To chase this foolish mortal away

From danger that magic can portray

When illusions and elements do play.

Why doth the ground beneath thy feet

Grow harder to climb and ever steep?

Oh foolish child return to sleep

The world of dreams you'll never keep.

What doth the stars alluring show?

That man's small mind can never know

Of vast kingdoms forbidden glow

Beyond horizons that ever grow.

Why doth the waters restless waves

Subdue mortals to early graves

Where sirens feast and never save

In murky depths no heart can brave.

Oh foolish mortal heed the sign

The chill that now runs down your spine

What punishments shall we assign

To intruders of the fairy shrine.
