***
What do you say to dry the tears
You know no one will ever hear.
How do you mend the void inside
With silken thread and empty pride.
How far must I still wander here
In thoughts that never seem to clear.
Where chaos makes me feel insane
But silence brings me only pain.

So drink, drink love
Regret is such a bitter cup.
Savor ever sip and drop
The fights not over, don’t give up.

My body fails me with each step
Judged by eyes filled contempt.
No wonder I prefer the dark
That has rebuilt my broken heart.
I’m running low on trust these days
The past always seems to replay.
Don’t promise that you won’t cause pain
I know these lies are all in vain.

So drink, drink love
Regret is such a bitter cup.
Savor ever sip and drop
The fights not over, don’t give up.

I’ve become familiar with the fall
Defeat has wrapped my like a shawl.
Beneath the darkness I’m content
No longer crushed by abandonment.
But angels sing behind the stars
That burn beneath my soul of scars.
And tears I never meant to cry
Haven fallen from my weary eyes.

So drink, drink love
Regret is such a bitter cup.
Savor ever sip and drop
The fights not over, don’t give up.

These words I’ve woven into song
I leave them here to prove me wrong.
Perhaps one day they’ll set me free
From the life that never welcomed me.
