I wrote this story for school so obviously there is an agenda I have to meet. However, I hope it doesn't come out as too forced. The little girl Sierra is roughly based off of my little sister and
Mack is totally me. About 90% of everything in this story actually happened, although I change names and some physical characteristics for the individuals' privacy of course.

Chapter Two: Jack

Funny story about Jack--I took all the first and last names of the characters of this book from kids at my school. Jack's last name is Aronson, named after Augie Aronson. Augie Aronson actually
ended up editing this part of my story in English class.

Ah, those words! The last words in the chapter. Those words were said to me by one of my best friends at school while I was writing the story and I had to put them there. Mack needed them just as
much as I did.

Chapter Four: The Hole

Jared is named after a kid from my Spanish class. He liked to sleep on my desk. I did not like him to sleep on my desk because he constantly hit his head against my computer. We made a
compromise--he could only sleep on my desk when I brought an inflatable pillow.

Chapter Six: Seeing Sierra

You may have noticed that you can't tell that some of the main characters have disorders. I did this intentionally because so many kids at my school have disorders and know one notices until they
say something. That's kind of the point--people freak out at the word disorder. It's just a medical term. We're not that different from the rest of the world.

Chapter Seven: The Hole Again

This chapter is pretty short. It was originally either part of chapter six or chapter eight, I can't remember...anyway, I had to give it it's one chapter for chapter title reasons. You may notice
it cuts off at the end. That's intended.

Chapter Eight: The Doctor

I like this chapter. The doctor is kind of a voice-in-your-head character if you catch my drift, although he is a real person in the story. I always turn the voices into my head into real people so
I can have a conversation with them and work things out.

Chapter Nine: Sierra

Sierra is based off my youngest sister. She is the only person in this story not named after a kid from my school. The ending of this story is the one I wanted--want--for her.
