SOON GONE

wander free like a butterfly

soar like a bumblebee

plant a gum tree beside a solemn sea

do all this before saying goodbye

sunbathe on a solemn shore

climb a mountain where eagles soar where snow and sun converse evermore

let fish forsake polluted streams

where typhoid teems

we don’t care anymore it seems

we’re deemed to die inside our toxic dreams

we do nothing as ice caps melt

into polluted streams

the air now reeks

as children choke

and no one speaks

of radiation clouds

and poisoned creeks

rich men silence critiques
