The beach

It was 11.00 p.m.I was still standing in the beach all alone. The beach was brimming with activities of human beings just two hours ago.Now I could hear only the roaring sound of the waves and the sound of a few sea birds. The stillness of the beach rekindled my memories backwards.

It was 0500 am.I was jogging in the beach slowly.I was surprised when somebody overtook me.After a few minutes,I realized the jogger was a beautiful girl. After a few days we became jogging mates, and then friends and after a few months, she became my wife. Nobody would believe, my early morning jogging in this beach fetched me my beautiful wife.It was a pleasant memory.Whenever I visited the beach,I could not forget my first love that ended up in my marriage.

After thirty years of my marriage,I retired from government service. Now I began to walk along with my wife in my favorite beach. But I never thought the beach would also provide a haunting memory in my life in a couple of days.In a family dispute that arose between my wife and her eldest daughter in law,my wife was badly abused by her.I tried my best to mediate between them in vain. The next day morning when I woke up, I found my wife was missing from home.I searched for her everywhere. After two days,I got a call from the beach police station, informing me, my wife's dead body had been found a kilometer away from the beach with a suicide note in her closed right hand.

After a month, having lost my better half,I felt lonely.I didn't know how I reached the beach. It was late night.I was staring at the sea waves with mixed feelings. As I was standing there hours together, the thought of my wife haunted me more.Still I could not leave the beach because she had been my only bosom friend all these years in my life.
