One chance is all that we get. They say if you have an opportunity, you should take it. We shouldn't dwell on the risk. A chance is a flower that only blossoms in the third week of Spring. If you don't take care of it, it will die, and you will never see it again, and when you do, it won't look the same.

So, we have one chance.

We have one time.

One moment. One minute. One second.

And then, after that, we either have nothing,

or we have everything.

After being rejected by the record label of her dreams, eighteen-year-old Valerie Kenison is trying to survive through the routine of her daily life— therapy sessions every Friday and Monday, finally completing her application into Durham University for Midwifery, neglected phone calls to her estranged sister, and double shifts every chance she has just to stay away from home. Valerie's world has been spinning in circles for her years. With a past that's managed to mold her, Valerie's future seems too far out of reach.

Enter Jagger Eliot, a world-famous musician with a tainted reputation, a loyal boyfriend to supermodel Clarity Vincent and an A&R member at Unity Sun Records who happens to stumble across Valerie's audition tape. He's ready to give Valerie the opportunity of a lifetime— in a girl group.

From meeting a boy on a laundry room floor to endless studio nights with three girls who can't seem to get along, Valerie's new life in Los Angeles is nothing it seemed it would be. Going down the rabbit hole, at first, seemed like an adventure.
Now Valerie's questioning how she'll ever get out.

Chapter One

Welcome back!

Just to clear up any confusion:

- This story, in the very beginning, takes place in England. Therefore there is a very minimal amount of British (specifically Geordie) dialect.

- "Clamming" means hungry; starved!

- Valerie is 18, her brother is 26.

- There are some things that may seem a little blurry, so all I ask is that you keep an open mind while reading and know that there are things that are going to be revealed throughout the story!

I would love 100% honest feedback. I only strive to be the best that I can when it comes to writing. I don’t mind which way I receive the feedback or what it is on. Whatever you think needs work,
tell me. Whatever you think was good and should stay, tell me. Do it how you want, you are the reader and you matter the most.

I would really like feedback on the dialogue. It's not my strong suit and I'm not really comfortable with it.
