How holiday eating feels to some of us, maybe. Meant for humorous intent.

Pork chops, butter beans, chicken pot pie

Too many foods catch my eye.

Spaghetti, pizza, and the potato fry

From one to the other, we munch and we crunch.

Packing our faces with all of this stuff.

Tummy quakes and bellyaches, rumbling guts

Remind us all of our hungry butts.

From the turkey and beef to the mac and cheese,

We ask for it all with a big fat "Please!"

A bowl of potatoes covered in gravy

To the roast beef smoked, all perfect and savory

We've consumed so much it's a wonder still

That we can even move after a meal.

Finally, at last, full to the brim

We push it away and to the recliner, we go to lay

And remain there 'til next holiday.
