Taluk Child Welfare committee headed by Rahman was astonished to see a child, not accompanied by her mother or father, standing in the queue to present a petition to them.

 

When her turn came,Rahman was very curious about the child.

 

"Sweety, why are you standing in the queue?Have you got any grievance?"

 

"Yes sir, I am complaining against my parents.Here it is"

 

"What's your complaint?"

 

"I am living in a village.Ever since I realized I am a grown up child,I hesitate to go outside I mean in the open to fulfill my nature's calls.I have been asking my parents to build a toilet nearby house for the past two years.But they never fulfilled my wishes.So I have to do everything in the open.Sometimes,especially during daytime, I had to control my instincts and go out only when it becomes dark.So I am complaining against my parents for not building a hygienic toilet.Please help me."

 

"OK,child you go home safely.I will ask your parents to fulfill your wish."

 

The girl's parents were astonished when they received a summon from the child welfare committee. Finally, the girl's father appeared before the committee.

 

"Your child has some grievances against you and she has preferred a complaint against you for not building a hygienic toilet nearby your house.She had her own difficulties.What do you say?"

 

"What I can say?My resources are limited.We could not spare or provide the requisite funding for building a toilet.In fact, I hand over my earnings from my small business to my wife.Despite my repeated requests,she never spare or allott any fund for building a toilet.What can I do?"

 

Then the child welfare committee summoned the mother of the child.

 

When she appeared before the committee,

the president asked her,

 

"Your child has preferred a complaint for not building a hygienic toilet at your or nearby your house.What do you say?"

 

"Sir,we live in a small house.We don't even have a separate room of our own at my house.In fact,we are struggling to have our both ends meet with what my husband earns from his small business.But if somebody helps me with funds,I will redress the grievance of my child.Will any one be here for funding me to build a hygienic toilet?"

 

Rahman referred the child's complaint to the village panchayat.

 

The Panchayat President appeared before the child welfare committee.

 

" Sir, I am very glad that at least a child has some awareness about the hygienic toilet.We have proposed to build hygienic toilets to each house in our village under the Central Government Scheme.We expect funding from the government shortly.Then we can redress the grievances of a number of poor people in our village including this child.Are you OK now?"

 

The child smiled at them rather innocently.
