Speechless

She never spoke a word.

Conversations thrown at her like dodge balls to the face.

Her life was that bad day at gym class.

Sharp smiles cutting her wrists and loud words breaking down her brain.

Her screams were silent.

You heard footsteps from miles away but never once heard hers.

She whispered around like a ghost on cocaine.

Strung out on an unstable string.

Up high for all to see.

But to never hear.

Shed walk, spin, and leap.

But was never asked to speak.

She then dove off the ledge.

Screaming with joy on the way down.

“Now they’d see” she said.

“Now they’d hear me in their sleep.”
