It’s trying to; I feel it in my heart,

I fear this time; it will tear me apart.

The attempt is frustrating,

My strength’s evaporating.

I never can win,

It’s like it’s built-in.

This fucking depression,

I’m just its possession.

The one true fool,

That it loves to rule.

I’ve done so well!’

I want to yell.

It settles in every vein,

Hardwired inside my brain.

It’s always at bay,

Dormant not far away.

Watching and creeping,

Invading when I’m sleeping.

And then it penetrates this deep,

I’m the one thing it wants to keep.
