Sadie, my gorgeous Cocker Spaniel, has perfected the art of seduction... its a fact, no-one can resist her charms. She loves to socialise on her daily walks, not particularly with other dogs, but their owners. She will sit at their feet looking up lovingly with her long lashed, soulful eyes, and when this provokes the intended reaction she will then go into her full on I-adore-you routine. This involves allowing them to fondle her ears, a pre-curser to jumping up for more fuss, which always proves irresistible to her fawning fans.

She is also a very smart canine, one who quickly discovered that other dog walkers usually have very deep pockets in their dog walking coats, filled with tasty treats. To say that Sadie loves her food, is an understatement, she is totally driven by it, seeking out possible sources in every situation and encounter, and her scheming knows no bounds. Again, she soon worked out that her hobby of litter picking could prove to be a real crowd pleaser, particularly if she picks up a discarded can of Strongbow Cider or Scrumpy Jack.

Aww, look at her, bless her... it's a bit early,” they quip, falling for her plan like besotted fools.

This signals the next phase of her seduction plan, involving an enthusiastic investigation of their coat pockets with her discerning nose. “Is it okay if I give her a treat?” they ask, already offering a tasty morsel, which she gobbles up with satisfaction before pleading for more.

I love her unconditionally... am equally besotted , but she shows no loyalty where food is concerned. I know without a shadow of doubt she would go off with the highest bidder of dog treats without a backward glance and her tail wagging like a flag at full mast... which is why I watch her like a hawk. I know she loves me, its just that she loves her food more!
