Running down the decrepit alleyway lit by the dusty windows of the buildings that closed him in, his feet slapping against the little puddles on the cold cobblestone floor of the alleyway. Running faster and faster the man made a slip and tripped into one of the metal trash cans, resulting in a loud metallic bang. The wub of the metal shaking sent echoes throughout the alleyway both ways, where he came from and where he was headed.

Landing on his knees and hands the man quickly looked back to see if it was still chasing after him, and sure enough, it was. Far off into the blackness, there was a slight hint of red on the walls as it walked towards him, what it was he knew not, all he knew was he did not want it to catch him.

Trying to get help was useless, banging on the windows and yelling did nothing, it was like no one was there, or no one wanted to help. Getting back up on his feet he burst into a sprint down the alleyway leaving the trashcan on the ground and the trash strewn about the cobbled floor. The pitter patter of rats could be heard as they rushed to the knocked down trashcan to try and find a meal for the night.

Although the man was sprinting the figure from the darkness seemed to be catching up with him although it was only walking at the pace of a walk. And it seemed that the longer he ran the father the exit of the alleyway got, the bright neon lights of the city lighting up the streets, visible from the alleyway. Running down the alleyway the lights from the dusty stained windows illuminated his face to reveal the mans face briefly, he had a sharp rough face mostly hidden by his stubble like beard, and his eyes a bright fierce blue that popped from his terrified face.

Not far behind him, he could hear the figure getting closer and closer, the noise it made he could not quite pin down. At one point it made a noise much like a wet fish fresh from the ocean being slapped against a hardwood, and another it moment later it made a noise of cowboy boots on a hard stone floor. But all the while he was getting closer and closer to the exit but the red light coming from the figure was also closing in.

The closer he got to the exit of this long alleyway the more he could sense a greater sense of danger, perhaps it was the large figure chasing him. Dodging trash cans and dumpsters he made his way past it all until he could hear the figure right behind him as he was mere feet from the exit to the bright light of the city, its safety was so close to him.

A large hand grazed his shoulder almost pushing him forward a little bit but this went with what he had in mind, with a great leap after leaning forward he sent himself flying forward into the city, the bright colorful lights illuminating him and he fell onto the concrete of the sidewalk.

Despite escaping the large man he only felt a greater sense of danger, turning to look back to see if the figure was chasing after him still something caught his eyes on the forefront of the buildings. The things producing the bright lights where no signs or billboards, but where large blob circular shaped beings. Jumping off of the building and down onto him, the sludgy jelly beings began to attack him, bringing out their sharp teeth they tore into his flesh. The bright neon colors they produced faded away, perhaps just a tactic to lure prey in. But bit by bit they all joined in on this feast and began to eat the man alive, his screams filling the streets.

Meanwhile back in the alleyway, the figure could only watch in horror as this unfolded in front of him, sticking to the shadows he pulled out a little walky-talky from his trench coat and spoke into it. “We lost the potential survivor, I couldn't save him” There was a tinge of sorrow in his voice, feeling bad he couldn't save the man from the fate he had encountered. “I will be back soon, over and out” He said turning it off and putting it back into his trench coat.

Watching the man writhe in agony for a few more moments before he turned around and walked at the pace he did once before, turning on his red LED light to illuminate the way, he headed back to wherever he came from.
