Her bells lie in the stillness

of the fading light,

cloisters soaked in ash and sweat

she awaits her sentence,

time an artifact's cinder

left on heaving floor's remains,

and yet, in the silence

her erect form stands as testament,

echo of faith - past and present -

and symbol of our rebirth.
