This is a poem to an old friend. It's not my best work, but the intention is there. I thought I'd share anyway.

You throw like a girl

He said in second grade.

His attitude never changed,

He just learned subtly.

That’s gay

He scoffed in fifth grade,

To the only boy

Who was proud and gay.

You’re such a pussy

He laughed in seventh grade.

I was foolish.

He said we were friends.

When he was racist,

They were just jokes.

When he was misogynistic,

I should’ve lightened up.

When he was a homophobic bully,

It’s cause my friend freaked him out.

I totally get why we never worked.

I’m two out of the three things he hates most.
