"Harley? Are you ok?" It was Regan.

Great just great, I'm sitting here in a dirty bathroom stall, the first day of school, having a mental breakdown, Lost the friend I've had since I was 5, And now the only other friend I think I might have, is knocking on it. Now I'm officially embarrassed.

"Harley I know your in there, I saw what she did, I heard what she said, She was an ass,"  Regan said.

" We are friends. Were friends. Are...I don't know anymore!" I said choking back a sob.

I heard a sigh.

"Harls open the door."

"No, I'm a mess..." I said in a low voice.

"Harls if you don't open this door I'm going to slide under it, and then I'll get all mad because there's probably loads of germs on it. So save us the trouble and open the door." She said using her 'Im the boss now' voice.

"fine." I knew better than to argue with the boss voice. I got up and slid the lock open on the door. Regan slid in and sat next to me.

"Whats that's bitches name?" She asked

"Jaz"

"How long have you two been 'friends'"

"A long time, since I was like 5?"

There was a pause after I said that.

"What's she doing hanging around that prick Courtney?" Regan said finally.

I shrugged.

"Where does Jaz live?"

"Why?" I looked at her suspiciously.

"So I can Literally stab her in the back for her metaphorically stabbing you in the back." She said, making a menacing face.

I laughed, I knew she was joking... I think.

"Do you know Courtney?" I asked wiping the tears off my face.

Regan's eyes narrowed and she pressed her lips together,

"Unfortunately yes, We've had some bad blood for a long time now."  She said, then sighed and added: "You want me to tell you what happened don't you?"

I nodded

"Fine."

" Courtney and I used to be friends, She stabbed me in the back as well. When I was in the time of need. I wasn't always this... confident." She sighed.

The bell rang.

"You have to go to class, I'll tell you what happened another time. Just know this. What other people think of you doesn't matter, even more so in high school. You're never going to see these people again. Don't focus on who you arent but on who you are." She said sternly looking into my eyes.

She pulled a wipe from out of her bag and started to wipe all the mascara off my face, and then helped me put some more on.

"thank you," I said, and I meant it.

"Taz, Jaz, what's her name, the people who act as they like you, but then try to change you arent your friends. Despite how cool they are. Just focus on your real friends; Me and cole." She said, Then got up and left.

I looked at myself in the mirror, And I noticed that she did a really good job with the mascara, and I no longer doubted if she was my friend.

Don't focus on who you aren't; but on who you are.
