A subway ride is something most people wouldn't have a problem with, but for some it can be a trigger for fear.

I told myself I could do it as I descended the stairs to the platform carrying my wheeled suitcase.  Just a short twenty, maybe thirty minutes ride and I’ll be at my hotel.  The platform looked nearly deserted as I stood there waiting for the next train.  Maybe it wouldn’t be that bad, maybe there wouldn’t be that many people on the subway with me.  The platform slowly fills as the time for the train approaches, and I consider making the hike across town on foot.  The train rolls in and I bite my lip and walk towards the door pulling my suitcase behind me.  I can do this I slowly repeat in my head like some personal mantra as I step aboard.  As the train pulls out, I feel the air in the car slowly used up by all the others breathing in the car with me.  I feel myself suffocating as I spin around and beat on the doors to get out.  My panic and fear are complete as I scream to be left off, but no one pays me any attention.
