Two misfits will find a way to make it work, no matter how much they are looked down on and no matter how many challenges are thrown at them by the twists of fate.
Partially inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 130, although this has quite a different meaning. Shakespeare, however, also addresses a love who is unconventional, but “just as rare” to him.

Nothing hurts you, my wildflow’r, no more;

they can’t make me regret my decision.

If they say there’s more beauty in war -

you will still be my favorite vision.

They have blamed me for seeing the good

in the parts they mistake for chaotic -

You’re exotic, but I’ve understood

all your patterns, aroma, hypnotic.

You’re my tenderness, hope and delight,

my direction, my compass, my sonnet;

All the joy and the troubles inside

that awaken me, hours past midnight.

I will care for you more than you’ll know,

I’ll acknowledge your triumph’s ignition:

Rose bouquets may have brighter glow...

...but aside you, stand no competition.

Nothing hurts you, my wildflow’r, no more -

In a hothouse of warmth and protection:

I have found what I’m looking for,

with no other I feel this connection.

For your happiness, I‘ll bravely fight

with all passion, despair and resistance -

Build a roof, so you sleep safe at night,

let the hurricanes twirl in the distance.

Some share pollen, and some feel the sting,

but no matter the case and the weather;

Like a butterfly’s torn-apart wings,

I will knit all your stems back together.

When they turn; fail to give extra care,

aggravated by storms, fearing thunder...

...know, my wildflow’r, I’ll always be there,

and discover your treasure of wonders.
