Fortune be kind

I am resigned

And I beg mercy

My mind shatters

Fragments of thought splattered,

Through space and time

It clogs this life of mine

Ricocheting through dreams and wake

I wish I would just break,

Patched up like a porcelain doll,

The cracks grow longer, wider, darker,

With glue barely holding me together

I’ve long hit the floor

But fate wants to play…

Just a little bit more

A thing to be admired

Misused by playful hands,

Somewhere between fragile girl and vivacious woman

Play became cruel in the hands of a boorish male

I cannot break La roue de fortune

Nor the teachings it aims to bring

For the cogs turn endlessly

But lessons supposedly learned

For now, remain unheard
