Hallucinations

Wisteria strangles this house

With purple claws,

Iguanas creep across

The floral floors,

The ghosts of mescaline

Have got me by their jaws,

Through the kitchen window

Hallucinations crash onto the shore,

Their impossible shapes

Breaking every perceptual law,

I haven't felt this good

Since nineteen sixty-four,

When I was listening to

Jim Morrison and the Doors,

And I was brought up

In a brothel by a whore!
