Empathy Without Boundaries

I came across a quote today. ‘Empathy without boundaries is self-destruction’ (Silvy Khoucasian), which really got me thinking.

It’s true. As much as empathy is an important trait to have, without limits it becomes overwhelming. It becomes impossible to give yourself any Somehow it is nearly always the negative that catches the attention, draws me in. After all, positive feelings generally don’t need the same kind of support.

although they are still there, pushed to one side. I’m way more in tune with animals than people, although the needs of other people around me always outweigh my own.

overload is a depressant. Will it change me? Not one bit.
