Once so lively, so bright

Jovial was its light

Hope gifted to all

So that not one would fall

 

Mornings where light treads not

Hope was not extinguished

Blessings bestowed and gifts brought

We have yet to become languished

 

As we near our end, light fades

Hope once more shades

Rivers of Seneca flow from the eyes

We shan't meet our demise

 

Quashing of all doubt

Verbosity coming to a close

In this, we aren't left in drought

Bearing a torch, the making of our light now shows

 

We extinguish the flame

Fire, so easy to tame

An entity so flawed yet maintains control

So dangerous the unpredictable soul
