A mind lacking inspiration,

Reluctant to the motivation.

An idled brain—my thoughts are lagging,

My inner voice is always nagging.

Stuck in a trance; I am bemused,

Staring blankly and confused.

Not even horror stories are as terrifying,

As the blank page desperately trying.

To instill fear and wear you out,

And your skills you’re bound to doubt.

What is a writer without their lines?

My skills are rusty; these are the signs.

And while I try to just break free,

This page just stares right back at me.

Welcome back, sweet Lis. Even amidst no inspiration you always somehow shine through. Nothing rusty about your skills, Lisbeth. Nicely done.

The struggle of writer's block. We get so focused on trying to force ourselves to write something when really we should be looking for inspiration. Instead of staring at a blank page, go out and watch the birds, look at the trees or buildings, feel the breeze, read or listen to music, watch a show, play a game or draw - open your eyes to the world around you and search for that invigorating spark we always had as kids. Look for the colour in life.
No matter what excites you, so long as it gets you thrumming with enthusiasm again, it will motivate you to write! There is no small source of inspiration. Look everywhere!
It is great reading something from you again! :)

This sounds like everyday, and not just for writing. I don't think a blank page is lack of motivation, it's just a lack of idea. The idea can take time to develop, so just take all the time you need. The ideas are always within you; just sometimes they don't want to be found. Lisbeth you are a complete genius with your writing. Ideas are hidden and leave your mind, but talent like yourself is always forever, it will never disappear. It is great to have you back. You mean a lot, so I always want to check that you are ok. Your infamous rhyming is still here, so talent is never a blank page. Brilliant poem, and it does contains truth. Outstanding Lisbeth :)
