I wrote this poem on my dad's birthday. He is no longer with us, except in spirit. My mom still lives on the farm, and we all look after her. She will be 90 in January. My dad would have been 98 if he were still alive. We miss him a lot.

Angels in Heaven

If by chance you see my dad,

Would you please give him a hug from me

And tell him I miss him so bad.

Tell him we’re taking care of Mama.

She’s still living at home on the farm.

Bret, Tom, Linda and I check on her

To see she comes to no harm.

She thinks of him every day

As we all do so oft’.

What’s it like up there in Heaven?

Those clouds look so soft!

God, please watch over us

And keep us safe from harm.

We’ll keep everything running smoothly

Down here on the farm.
