What is a world without kindness
What is a world with our destructive blindness
We seek attention and our own intermissions
But where's the passion that once burned as bright as the largest star
But all stars die, and a special one today

It's the star that we all used to wish upon as a kid
The first star that lights up the night sky
But it's different somehow

Each kid has their own star
And one day when they lose hope
It disappears out of sight
And when they try to wish upon it

Their dreams crumble to dust
Their wishes of laughter and happiness evaporate
And their hearts remain forever untamed and broken

So tell me now why it came to this
Why did we lose our spark
Our life
When all you had to do

Was have a little hope
Have a little faith in yourself
Give a little love each day
Yet shed a little bit of tears if you may

I may have lost my star today
But you don't have to lose your star anyday
Just remember that if no one else loves you
I do
If nobody else will care
I will

The stars die
When our scars align
But when it heals over
When you feel a bit more sober

Just maybe
Your star will start to shine once more
