A A A

I stared at the dead & silent train station, silently waiting for the next train to arrive. I sighed watching my hot breath dissipate into a cold breath of smoke. It's currently three in the morning, & all I had with me was my backpack & travel along filled with as much as I could pack in a hurry. I walked miles & miles from my "home" to get down to this station, & no matter what, I'm not turning back. My thoughts quickly got interrupted as the train roared down the rails, & screeched to a stop. As the doors slowly slid open, I quickly got on & sat down on the closest seat. I laid down all my stuff beside me, & looked out the bleak, dirty window. As the train started to move, I watched all I knew for all my life pass me by in an instance. I lay my head back on the uncomfy seat & reached into my pocket. I inspected the small, silver heart pendant that rested softly in my hand. I gently open it, revealing a short blonde-haired girl's picture, smiling happily inside. I smile back & whisper, "I'm coming Caroline."
