Some dreams flitter like butterflies

Touching flowers of hope

Under stormy skies

And where they land

Is anyone's guess

In this world of sifting sand.

Life is a walk

Through an alley at night

Or through a park by day.

You never know what predicament waits

When the butterfly lands

But does not stay.

Some dreams come

By way of want

Others by way of need

But the treacherous kind

Are somehow blind

To the blatant signs of greed.

Yes, --- some may flitter

In the rays of the sun

Or flounder in a poem or a song.

But how will we know

Where the journey leads

Unless we flitter along?
