Could this really be the end? I say

To myself as I bask in the suns ray.

Fleeting of moments make me choke,

I try to gasp them but am only met with smoke.

The tides have passed and I am but a ripple

The life I had lived seems as if but a whisper.

My mind is cloudy and my body is fading,

The passing of time had left me withered and waning.

I close my eyes as my heart beat slows,

The life fleeing from my body like a river it flows.

My lungs ease as I take my last breath,

I’m met by the Omega, the angel of death.

“Your time has come,” he replies with an extended hand,

Mine meets his as we travel to a distant land.

My time may be over on this mound made of rock,

But my life is not over, infinite time on my clock.

I now live forever on a planet made of gold,

I fear no evil, restraints or the cold.

The happiness I feel now, I never felt before,

I may be a memory to you but I will be here forevermore.

Will I see you again? Only the sands of time will tell,

I will miss you my love, take care and farewell.
