"Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Jesus pointed out the obvious, tenderly showing them His pierced through hands and feet.

Shock ensued. It could scarcely be believed! And who would blame them?

"Have ye here any meat?"

John was first to move, quickly retrieving a piece of broiled fish and a honeycomb. Spirits don't eat, but Jesus did as He explained, opening their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures, which all spake of Him! All of them had to be fulfilled. "Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things!" It had been the adventure of a lifetime! "Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came and when the others told Him Jesus was alive, he refused to believe, "Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the ...

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came and when the others told Him Jesus was alive, he refused to believe, "Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe!"

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace be unto you. Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing!"

For without faith it is impossible to please Him.

"My Lord and my God."

"Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed," Jesus upbraided because of the lack of belief and hardness of heart that had overtaken him. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Many other signs and wonders did Jesus with His disciples before He was received into glory, it would be impossible to write all the wondrous things He did

Many other signs and wonders did Jesus with His disciples before He was received into glory, it would be impossible to write all the wondrous things He did.

These all were written for a man to believe that Jesus Christ truly is God in flesh, that salvation may be sought in His Name alone.

Amen.
