It was only days after posting an article here entitled, 'Christianity is Terrorism' that a very personal family crisis unfolded. My sixteen year old niece was taken as a ward of the state and was placed into a mental health facility. The authorities in charge were concerned that she might hurt herself after experiencing  a serious emotional breakdown.

Not incidentally, she had recently broken off a 'friendship' with a girl of the same age, someone she attends high school with. The girl is a declared Christian who'd repeatedly tried to entice my niece into the religion. She gave her literature from her church, the stuff spewing the standard hate filled and archaic riff such as Homosexuality is a sin. She personally telling my niece if you don't believe in god (Jesus Christ) you'll go to hell.

My niece is a sensitive, quiet and intelligent teen. All teens can experience confusion at certain times while developing into who they will become, and she meet a tough crossroad with this Christian girl who judges so harshly. My niece didn't want to go that route, yet she was feeling emotional pain within the relationship. My sister had told me that her daughter had been brought to tears by some of the things this Christian girl was saying and doing. I know for a fact that what she put forth through her hateful religion, along with her subsequent behavior, affected my niece's emotional state, adding to her mental instability.

At the time of placing this essay, my niece is still being evaluated in the mental facility. And it's for her that I write this, and I'll state it again, Christianity IS terrorism.
