A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY

A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY, THOSE WORD'S MAKE MY BLOOD CHILL.

A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY, A PART OF AMERICIA has died.

THE CROWD THAT WAS GATHERED SHOUTED "DOIT"AS children AT PLAY.

NO ONE REACHED A HAND TO HELP, THIS COP THAT DIED TODAY.

A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY, SHOT DOWN IN HIS PRIME.

WHILE HE PROTECTED RIGHT'S OF PEOPLE, YOUR'S AND MINE

A HUSBAND WON’T BE HOME TONIGHT, A FATHER'S GONE AWAY,

SAD THE CHILDREN ALL BECAUSE, A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY

NOW the BADGE taped IN BLACK, AND AMERICA, now DISGRACED.

BECAUSE OF THE WAY, IT HAPPENED, WHEN A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY.

The next time that stupid cop writes you that citation think about this.
That same stupid cop puts on that uniform and stands between
Them, and us, and bets his life every day he can save ours.
