Another short poem inspired by loss. A friends daughter was fighting and eventually lost her battle with cancer.

I will not pretend to know your pain
nor how your strength will remain.

A senseless illness we do not understand,
taking that innocent girl out of your hand.

There's nothing we can say or do,
just know we will all be crying with you.

A final prayer to whomever will hear it
to save young Ally, and all the other children infected

I've seen this before,  there is no happy ending.
No matter the amount of time in treatment you're spending.

I see her wasting away to nothing more
The doctors and nurses coming in and out through the door

A little girls spirit crushed more than her small body. A glimmer of hope in her eye faded to melancholy.

To say goodbye to a child so young is an evil so bitter, you pray it never has to come off your tongue.

Fuck Cancer.
