Had sworn off never to open my heart to anyone again
Shunning everything that related to love

U came when every feeling had ceased to exist
Pulled me onto my feet, and planted hope in me
Watched it sprout and grow into a tree
Unfurling into a thousand branches
Blossoming and devising memories for the world to see

Just when I had believed flawless things did exist
It came crumbling by a small wind
Though not at fault completely, I tried hard to make reason with him
But so easily he walked away, just the way he had once tumbled into my life
Disowning me and everything that was connected to me

Be it in rage or in a turmoil, I could never have treated him like this
Never would have cut all the strings and not look back at the chaos caused
With such ease he said I deserved it all and more to come
Never offering solace watching me shed an ocean load of tears
Left me desolate and miserable, to crash in agony

Time and time again, I fall into this trap called love
Betrayed and shattered I swear off never loving again
Yet dive headlong into it, just to be left defeated in the end
Wonder when simpletons like me will learn or us perishing is the only end
