Peter was alone on the platform when the train pulled in, an advantage of arriving at and leaving the office early.  He had stayed in a cheap hotel all week again and was ready to be home.  He arrived to find his house had been broken into.  Again. The television and computer were gone.  He frowned and called the security company and local sheriff.  The security company said no alarm went off, and suggested he forgot to set it when he left.  He kept his keys next to the alarm as a reminder, so he knew they were wrong.  The basement door was still locked, the string at the top showing it had not been opened.  The sheriff arrived, took the information, checked the outer doors and windows for signs of forced entry, gave Peter a copy to turn into insurance, and left.  He’d check the local pawn shops, but someone probably took the items for their personal use.  Hours later Peter checked his hidden video system.  He discovered how the thief got in, recognized him, and planned to add his head to the collection in the freezer in the basement soon.  No one stole from him twice.
