Could you feel my hand on the world of your womb?

Could you hear the echoes as I sang you a tune?

Through shadows of forest, sunshine cuts through

You emerge from the soil of your soul brand new

Your spirit whispers with a light of its own

A rising son on the day you were born

You arrive in the twilight of a brand-new day

New son from above, new sun on the way

The shadow of my heart is cast on my soul

From the glistening rays of new life aglow

You are now a story ready to unfold

You are now a tale ready to be told

So, arise my son and open your eyes

Your canvass is bigger that you realize

Arise, my son and open your ears

To unspoken words from those you hold dear

Arise, my son and open your mind

To infinite paths for you to unwind

Climb up to the mountains and stand up high

Push your vines of existence up to the skies

The breeze of your future will soon dry your wings

Catch a ride on that cushion of air that hope brings

Brushstrokes of life can go to extremes

Choose your brushes wisely to open your dreams

I can hear the rattling of wings in your cage

Time to spread the seeds of the fruits we raise

Step out to the ledge as far as you dare

For when you look back, you know I’ll be there

Just let that bond and closeness stay true

With parents who treasure a son like you

You have earned your diploma, a sign of your worth

That happens to share the day of your birth

Can you autograph for me these moments in time?

These stories and tales that you leave behind?

Keep fanning your embers, your flames have begun

Time to shine your own light, my rising son
