Some say a coin has two sides to fall on, but they always forget that the coin, sometimes, lands on its edge.

Nan Nulee was twenty-three

And a pillar of dilution.

She conjured up a loving cup

But all it held was poison.

A little lie, here and there,

Some indiscretions woven in.

The cup began to crack a little

Like the look of aging skin.

The years passed by like pie in the sky

And the cup was hidden away.

Poor, poor, Nan can’t keep a man

But her lies are there to stay.
