A middle aged woman was sitting outside a hospital room anxiously waiting for results regarding her sick ten year-old daughter. All of a sudden, a tall, skinny male doctor with chocolate brown hair, dark brown eyes and black rectangular-frame glasses wearing light blue scrubs came out of the room. He took off his surgery mask.

“Ma’am, I’m sorry to say this but we’ve got some bad news regarding your daughter.” the doctor said, showing sympathy towards the woman.

The woman gulped.

“Unfortunately your daughter isn’t going to make it so if you wish you can go in and say goodbye.” he continued.

The woman burst into tears and walked into her daughter’s hospital room, spotting her daughter looking back at her, her face expressionless.

“Oh Ruby!” the woman sobbed, caressing her daughter’s right cheek, “I’m so sorry...”

Memories replayed through the woman’s head such as her running to the local playground and five year-old Ruby running after her, laughing and saying “Wait for me, wait for me!”. A fat tear rolled down Ruby’s cheek and the woman’s body shuddered as they cried in sync. The doctor returned and offered her a tissue and the woman held Ruby’s hand.

“Ruby, don’t ever forget that I will love you forever, in fact, until the end of the Earth.” the woman said calmly, “I love you very much but now it’s time to say goodbye.”

Tears streamed down both the woman and Ruby’s faces and the woman kept on wiping Ruby’s tears away with her hand.

“Mummy, I’m going into heaven.” Ruby finally said quietly.

“I know, Ruby. Never forget that Mummy loves you very much, okay?” the woman said whilst more tears streamed down her face, “You’re going into heaven know.”

The woman kissed Ruby’s forehead and held her hand until she peacefully passed away. All this happened at the worst time - before work. The woman drove to work that day, crying the whole way over her little girl, Ruby.
